The brass instrument of trumpet enjoys the highest register in all of the brass instruments and it is widely used not only in bands, but also in orchestras. The tones of trumpets are produced by lip vibration and blowing into the mouthpiece of the instrument. The note variation in the trumpet is produced by fingering variations on the three valves of the trumpet and also the varying lip tension. The B flat pitched key and the four and a half feet tube is mostly preferred by bands. This length of the tube is found in most of the trumpets. The bright and loud sound of the trumpet is largely the result of its cylindrical bore. Other than the B flat trumpet, one can find C, D, E-flat, E, F, G and A flat trumpets today. The earliest example of the trumpet was found in 1500 BC and earlier.
